# Savings certificates

> Add and track Portuguese savings certificates and their value over time.

This guide shows you how to record your Portuguese savings certificates (Certificados de Aforro, CA) in guito and track their value alongside your accounts and investments.

guito supports Certificados de Aforro indexed to Euribor and organized by series (for example, series E and F, the ones currently relevant).

## Add a certificate

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Investments">
    Open **Investments** in the sidebar and click **Add**.

  <Step title="Search for your certificate">
    Search for your certificate series in the same search box used for stocks and crypto, then select it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Fill in the subscription details">
    * **Operation**: choose **Subscription**.
    * **Date**: the subscription date.
    * **Amount**: the subscribed amount.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm">
    Confirm to save.
  </Step>

## Track its value

Once added, guito calculates compound interest based on the official Euribor rates and keeps the estimate current over time.

  Tracking savings certificates is part of the paid plan.

## Record a redemption

To record a redemption, open the certificate and enter the amount to redeem. You can choose which subscription (lot) the amounts are drawn from.

  The subscription you pick affects the realized gain, because each lot has different interest and loyalty premiums depending on its age.
