guito brings your financial information together in one place: accounts, investments, credits, property and goals. This page explains how that data is protected and what control you have over it.

Your banking credentials are handled securely

When you link a bank account to guito, the authorization happens over open banking. You authorize access directly in your bank’s portal, and guito only ever receives an authorization to read your data. The connection is used to view transactions and balances, never to move money.

Access scoped to your own data

Your data is tied to your account. No other guito user can access your data, and you cannot access theirs.

Control over what shows on screen

Privacy mode replaces every monetary value with ”••••••”, handy when you check your finances in a public place. It never touches any of your data. The step-by-step is in Privacy mode.

Taking your data with you

You can request a full copy of your data as CSV files — one per area (accounts, transactions, investments, properties, credits, recurring items, goals, and budgets) — bundled into a .zip and sent by email. Request it in your preferences, on the General tab, under Export your data. Subscription invoices are available as PDFs from the Billing tab.

Deleting your account and data (GDPR)

You can delete your account and all associated data from your preferences, on the Security tab, in the Delete account section. Deletion isn’t instant: there is a 7-day grace period during which you can cancel it, and only after that window is the data erased permanently.
