In this tutorial you connect your first bank account and watch its balance appear in guito. By the end, you’ll have one bank linked through open banking, syncing on its own, with nothing left to enter by hand.
You authorize access at your own bank’s portal, with your usual credentials, never inside guito. Access is read-only: guito reads your balances and transactions, but can never move money or touch your funds.

Connect your first account

The steps are the same for any supported bank.
1

Open the accounts page

Go to Accounts in the sidebar.
2

Add an account

In the accounts section, click Add account.
3

Choose your bank

Search for and select your bank from the list.
4

Authenticate at your bank's portal

You’ll be redirected to your bank’s portal. Sign in with your usual banking credentials.
5

Authorize read access

Authorize read access to your accounts.
6

Select the accounts to sync

Select the accounts you want to sync and confirm to complete the connection.

See your balance appear

After you confirm, guito fetches your transactions and prepares them before showing anything. A progress dialog appears while it works. When it finishes, your account shows up in the list with its balance, and your transactions are already named, categorized, and matched to a merchant. There is no “uncategorized” step for you to do. That’s it, your first bank is connected. From now on, it syncs automatically, with nothing for you to do.
