To check your finances in public (a café, public transport) without exposing balances and net worth to anyone next to you, turn on privacy mode. It hides every monetary value on screen in guito, replacing them with ***.

What gets hidden

When privacy mode is on, guito masks every monetary value across the app, not just the page you started from:
  • Amounts in account, transaction, and holding lists.
  • Totals such as balances, net worth, and category sums.
  • Values plotted in charts, so figures can’t be read off an axis or tooltip.
  • Numbers in replies from the assistant.
Labels, dates, merchant names, and categories stay visible, so you can still navigate and read context, only the numbers are masked.

Where the setting persists

Privacy mode is remembered per device and persists across reloads and new sessions, so it stays on until you turn it off again on that device. The setting is local to each device: turning it on in your browser doesn’t change it on your phone, and vice versa.
Privacy mode only masks values on screen. It doesn’t blur screenshots or screen sharing, so the masked figures are what a recording would capture, turn it on before you share your screen.
