This page shows you how to record a credit in guito, track its outstanding balance, and keep it up to date. Every credit you add is subtracted from your net worth, so the overview reflects your real net position.

Add a credit

1

In the sidebar, click Credits.
2

Add a new loan

Click Add credit to record a new loan.
3

Fill in the credit details

  • Type: mortgage, personal loan, car loan, and others.
  • Amount: total loan amount.
  • Interest rate: annual rate. Choose fixed, variable (indexed to Euribor) or mixed.
  • Term: duration in months.
  • Start date: the date the loan was taken out.
  • Amortization: French (constant instalment) or German (constant principal, decreasing instalment).
4

Save

Confirm to save the credit.
The outstanding balance of each credit is subtracted from your total net worth in the overview.

Keep a credit up to date

Open a credit from the Credits page to manage it over time. From its detail page you can:
  • Record payments and instalments.
  • Simulate early repayments.
  • Record rate renegotiations.
  • View the full amortization schedule.

Match instalments to bank transactions

To have each instalment linked to the bank transaction that paid it, connect the account you pay from through automatic sync. guito then links matching instalments silently, with no suggestions to confirm. A link is created only when there is a single clear candidate: amount within ±2%, date within ±2 business days, and the same payee as previous instalments.
To undo a link, open the bank transaction and unlink it. The payee is then excluded so the match is not repeated.

Track instalments alongside other commitments

Credits appear on the Recurring page as their own section. The monthly instalment counts as a recurring commitment, next to your other recurring expenses.
