The notifications bell gathers, in one place, what guito has to tell you while you use it. On the web, it sits at the top of the page and opens a panel when you click it. In the mobile app, it sits at the top of the screen and opens the Notifications page. The list has two sections: Needs attention, with what needs you, and Updates, with what is just for your information.

Needs attention

Notices that need you to act so your data stays right:
  • Bank connections that have expired or are about to. Reconnect the bank to resume syncing. See Bank sync.
  • Sync errors. A bank stopped syncing and needs to be reconnected.
  • Questions about an account. An account still needs its type, or a credit card its limit. See Accounts.
Each notice shows the bank it is about and opens the account where you can resolve it. It stops appearing as soon as the problem is resolved. Only this section counts for the bell. On the web, a dot on the bell means there is something to resolve: red for an expired connection or an error, amber for a connection about to expire, and guito’s colour when there is only a question. In the mobile app, the bell shows how many notices there are to resolve.

Updates

What is coming up and asks nothing of you. That’s why nothing in this section lights the bell’s dot or adds to the number of notices. With the Plus plan, this section shows the recurring movements expected today and over the next 7 days, soonest first. For example: “Netflix charges €13.99 in 2 days.” When the amount varies from month to month, the sentence gives the usual amount: “Gym usually charges about €35 tomorrow.” Recurring series under €1 per charge don’t appear. Tap or click a row to open the series. When nothing needs your attention and there are no updates, the bell tells you everything is in order. If the updates can’t be loaded, the bell says so and offers to try again, rather than telling you everything is in order.

FAQ

No. The bell shows notices while you use guito. Outside guito, notices reach you by email, and you choose which ones you receive in Email notifications.
The dot only appears when there is something to resolve. Updates are informational and stay in the list without calling for attention.
